Domestic Helper Agent - Good Domestic Helper Agent Equally Protects All Parties

By Alice Sy

A domestic helper agent can make a difference just by being fair. In a relationship especially between a maid and an employer, one is usually stronger than the other and a helper agent tends to favor the latter, most of the time. The difference a fair treatment makes goes beyond honoring equality of rights but a first step to fulfilling the dream of the domestic helper.

Often coming from a difficult family life, a helper is frequently a victim of abuse and inequality considering that they should be treated equally like normal employees. There is no perfect job, but there is no job devoid of value either. Because the job is a necessity, it should not be given less priority, not great either but at least with respect.

That doesn't mean the domestic helper agent should put the concerns of the employer any less. Chances are maids have faults too, cases of stowing away, and incompetency to the job are just as common leaving employers to complain to a domestic agency more and mistrust maids, even after such an incident and they have all the rights to do that and be considered as the aggrieved party.

Whatever the case, it is the role of the helper agent to push the maid and the employer to the right path after a trauma or misunderstanding by being a fair counselor. Agents who have an in depth knowledge about the industry knows the common reasons and solutions of employer-employee problems. Sometimes, it's about convincing the helper to honor the contract and make adjustments while asking the employer to be patient and do the same.

In any way, the domestic helper agent has the biggest role to play in order to ensure a better life and a better future for everyone. That is by instinctively ensuring the qualification of both parties before assessing their compatibility and then ensuring their compatibility before creating a match that's supposed to remain strong no matter how long.
